Rassada Pier Phuket

Tourists can reach various islands surrounding Phuket, such as Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Ao Nang (Nopparatthara), Railay, Krabi town, and Koh Lipe, through the pier where speedboats and ferries are available. The Rassada Pier Phuket is located on the island’s south east coast, which is approximately 4 km away from Phuket Town. It usually takes an hour to arrive from the airport.

Also, the pier is busiest in the morning when many people are travelling to Koh Phi Phi. There are different types of boats available starting at 8.30 am to take visitors to the islands. If you want to grab something to eat before leaving, there are several snack and beverage shops inside the pier.

Rassada Pier

If you plan on traveling from Rassada Pier during the high season, which is from November to April, it is a good idea to book your tickets in advance instead of waiting to purchase them on the day of travel. Booking in advance is advisable because tickets can get fully booked. This issue is present even during the low season, which is from May to October.

How to Get from Rassada Pier to Koh Phi Phi

  • To get to Koh Phi Phi from Rassada Pier, you can take either a ferry or a speedboat.
  • The ferry ride takes around 2-3 hours and will cost you about 600 – 1,200 baht, depending on which pier you arrive at.
  • Ferries operate from Rassada Pier between 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, but schedules are subject to change depending on the season and weather.

Meanwhile, a speedboat ride will take only one hour to reach Tonsai pier and 1.5 hours to get to Laemtong Beach, but it’s more expensive than the ferry. Therefore, it’s recommended to book your ticket in advance, especially during the high season.

In terms of cost, a speedboat ride is the most expensive option, usually costing around THB 800 – 1,200 one-way. On the other hand, a ferry ticket is cheaper, and a one-way trip will only cost you 450 – 700 THB. Therefore, if you don’t mind spending extra time on the ferry, it’s a good way to save some money.
