Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi Island is a group of islands located in the middle of the sea, and they are part of the national park Hat Noppharat Thara – Mu Ko Phi Phi.

They are 42 kilometers away from the city and consist of six islands, namely Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Lay, Yung, Bamboo, Bida Nok, and Bida Nai. The name “Phi Phi” came from “Pulau Piapi,” which means “island with mangroves.” Over time, it became known as the kingdom of “blooms under the sea.”

Most tourists visit the islands to snorkel and admire the beautiful anemones and colorful fish.

Each island has clear waters, sandy beaches, and interesting attractions. Phi Phi Don is the largest of the islands and has a total area of about 28 square kilometers.

Its highlight is the most stunning twin bays worldwide, Ton Sai Bay, and Loh Dalum Bay. From the Ton Sai Bay, visitors can enjoy a view of the bays and access various accommodations and stores.

Koh Phi Phi Don

Koh Phi Phi Don has beautiful beaches and bays scattered throughout the island, some of which offer accommodations, such as Laem Hin Beach, Long Beach and Lo Ba Kao Bay.

In the northern part of the island is Laem Tong, a village of about 15-20 fishermen, most of whom migrated from Lipe Island. Tarutao National Park in Satun Province includes the area of Laem Tong, which offers beautiful underwater nature and accommodation for tourists on the beach.

Tourists can rent a boat or go snorkeling around the islands of Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley. The cost of renting a longtail boat is about 2,000 baht per boat or more, which can accommodate 4-5 people.

Koh Phi Phi Le

Koh Phi Phi Le is an island full of limestone mountains, with an area of only 6.6 square kilometers. Almost the entire island has steep cliffs that run perpendicular to the sea surface. The average water depth is about 20 meters, with the southern part of the island being the deepest at 34 meters. Koh Phi Phi Le has stunning bays such as Pileh Bay, Maya Bay and Loh Samah Bay.

Maya Bay

Maya Bay

Maya Bay is a famous crescent-shaped bay on Koh Phi Phi Le Island. It is surrounded by mountains and offers a beautiful white sand beach with emerald-green waters.

Maya Bay is the most beautiful beach in Thailand, a hidden gem lined with natural rocks. The emerald sea is crystal clear and sparkles on the white powdery sand. It is undoubtedly one of the most famous and beautiful places on Koh Phi Phi Leh, the second largest island in Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. Tourists can also follow the footsteps of the iconic movie “The Beach” here.
