For 1970 Corvette, the firebreathing 427s has been replaced with Chevy's new 454 V8. But while the Chevrolet Chevelle SS received Chevy's top engine, the 454 LS6 rated at 450 bhp, the Corvette had to make due with the 454 LS5 rated at 390 bhp.
